I enjoy reading books regularly and in my opinion this is a great way to relax or come down at days end. I often read books before bed for an hour or sometimes more depending on how hard it is to put down. I do not have one particular genre or author that I prefer when it comes to books. I will read anything from horror and suspense to the odd sappy love story. If I come across a book in which I find myself unable to put down I often look into other books by this author. I like books with a good twist or two and ones that have hidden symbolism and meanings that really make you think. Seeing as I do not read one particular genre I have many different authors that I like such as; Ted Dekker, George R. R. Martin, C.S Lewis, Steven James, Malcom Gladwell, Pierce Askegren, Lee Child, Sandra Dallas, Robin Parrish, Karen Kingsbury, J. R. R. Tolkien, and the odd Stephen King book. These are only a few of the many authors I enjoy. Out of these authors have come many various favorites such as; Skin, A Dance with Dragons, the seven Narnia books, The Tipping Point, Relentless, and Tall Grass. These are just a few books that I have enjoyed reading over the years.
Now that you have a good understanding of my preferences when it comes to books we can move on to motion-picture theatre or what we all know as a movie or film. I personally love movies and spend much of my spare time watching them. Seeing as I have watched a lot of movies in my short 15, almost 16, years of life I have seen many different genres and types of movies from the usual comedy or romance to foreign cultured movies. I enjoy a good comedy that makes you laugh until you are ball your eyes out and loose all control of yourself. I enjoy any comedy that can give me a good laugh. I also like the sappy romance movies such as the Note Book or P.S. I Love You. Although I am a girl romance movies are not all that I enjoy. Although romance is a great way to get out the tears and to watch with a few of your girlfriends I also enjoy foreign cultured movies and heartfelt movies about people’s lives and what they had to do to get through it such as In America or The Pursuit of Happyness. I enjoy foreign cultured movies such as The Water or The Namesake because I find I have an interest in the lives of people in other countries. A few of my Favorite movies are In America, War of the Buttons, the Namesake, and of course The Lord of the Rings.
The last topic of discussion, although not the only type of media I surround myself with, is music. Like many other teenagers my life is completely surrounded by music. I have, again like many people in our society, made sure that I can have music with me at all times and in order to do so I have invested in the technology of the iPod Touch. This allows me to keep all the music I prefer in a pocket sized device that is portable. I enjoy so many different genres of music and will probably always be that way. I like anything from punk and hip-hop to opera and classical music. I have several favorite bands and don’t think that I could ever choose between them but I certainly have a top three. Number one in my top three would defiantly have to be Sigur Ros. They are a band from the Netherlands and they have their own made up language. Right now you are probably thinking “weird” but the thing is it isn’t weird because it leaves you open to interpret it in your own way. It is like righting your own story or righting the subtitles to a movie in a different language. Number two on my top three lists would have to be OneRepublic because I can honestly say I like every one of their songs. The final band in my top three is Fiest because her voice is unique and captivating. Personally I do not enjoy some of the lyrics in her songs but enjoy the overall sound that she creates. Like I said earlier music is a huge part of my everyday life and I don’t think I will ever loose my passion for music. As I previously said media is a big part of my life from books to movies and music.
GO MEDIA!!
yes.. this is all I have to say
THE END!!
